Target Audience

Des Moines University faculty and staff. 

Purpose

This class will introduce you to the key elements you & your students need to know to help you accomplish your clinical, research, and educational goals.   

Derived from real human data, Anatomy.TV provides over 5,000 3D anatomical structures, clinical slides, dissection slides & quizzes.  Models can be rotated and layers of anatomy added or removed. Clinical videos and text supplement the core three‐dimensional anatomy data.

Learning Objectives

By the end of class participants will be able to independently explain key concepts and/or perform the following skills as indicated by the observation of the instructor and student’s self‐assessment:

  1. Identify, explore, and interact with the 3D Atlas module, including learning to navigate print and visual content.
  2. Explore layers, rotation control, zoom control, highlighting, changing orientation of the model, displaying names and descriptions for anatomical structure, as well as many other features.
  3. Identify and locate structures in the 3D Model, use information found in the Text Pane, and navigate content in the Functional Anatomy, Imaging, Clinical Specialties, Therapy, Quizzes, and Other Products modules.
  4. Explore, recognize, and select the various menu options, including MRI, Anatomy Slides, Biomechanics, Clinically Oriented Slides, and Radiology.
  5. Be able to print and save images for offline use.
  6. Identify how to locate further training materials from the DMU library at: http://lib.dmu.edu/db/anatomytv.
