June 24, 2015

Mary Greeley Medical Center Grand Rounds is a multi-disciplinary clinical activity which serves to maintain, develop, or increase the knowledge, skills, and professional performance and relationships that a physician uses to provide services for patients, the public or the profession.

Target Audience

Physicians, mid-level providers, nurses and healthcare administrators.

Professional Practice Gap

Community-acquired pneumonia is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in the United States. The IDSA/ATS consensus guidelines were most recently published in 2007. Multiple studies have been published since that time addressing the epidemiology of community acquired pneumonia, risk for resistant organisms, serum biomarkers, antibiotic use and adjunctive therapies. Current gaps exist in the application of the above studies to improve care.

Learning Objectives

  1. Better understand T2DM management.
  2. Be aware of newer T2DM medications.
