
A Trauma Case Review: What Do I Do About This?
Purpose
To provide updates in diagnostics and treatment of health care problems affecting Trauma Patients.
Target Audience
Physicians, nurses, residents and medical students who have experience in the area of trauma.
Learning Objectives
- Review specific recommendations from the 2013 SCCM Pain, Agitation, and Delirium guidelines that pertain directly to the trauma/surgical population.
- Recognize what Propofol infusions syndrome is and the risk factors associated with it.
- Discuss roles of various sedatives in light of the ongoing Propofol shortage.
- Identify specific limitations associated with using methadone for acute pain.
