Standardized Performance Assessment Laboratory Osteopathic Medical Teaching
The Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences Human Simulation Lab provides a clinical setting for students to apply their professionalism, communication, interviewing, clinical reasoning, and examination skills without risk to themselves or their patients. Aligned with the university's mission, the purpose of the human simulation lab is to promote the delivery of competent and compassionate health care through educational experiences tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners within a safe, nurturing, and professional learning environment.
The lab fulfills its purpose in several ways because it:

- DO: Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences (DMU) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. DMU designates this program for a maximum of 15.25 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.
