Description
The purpose of this program is to expand provider knowledge of colorectal cancer screening modalities and improve patient adherence to screening guidelines established by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and the American Cancer Society. Strengthening provider understanding and patient participation can help reduce the growing incidence of colorectal cancer among adults under 55. The program also highlights the role of dietary counseling as a practical, non-invasive approach that can be incorporated into clinical practice to support better patient outcomes.
Learning Objectives
- Describe and compare different screening modalities for colorectal cancer.
- Apply current colorectal cancer screening guidelines and dietary interventions to a clinical scenario.
- Determine which screening modality is appropriate for a patient in a clinical scenario.
- Create a plan to integrate dietary counseling or to improve current CRC screening counseling in clinical practice.
