Multidisciplinary Treatment of Melanoma

The General Surgery Didactic Program is an addition to Mercy Medical Center's expansive general surgery exposure. A wide variety of general surgical and subspecialty training is administered within the tertiary care facility and is taught by fellowship-trained faculty.

Intended Audience

Nurses, physicians, surgeons, residents, medical students, and other interested health care professionals.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand importance of and advocate for banning tanning beds.
  2. Describe proper method of initial biopsy.
  3. Create a staging work up plan.
  4. Describe proper regional nodal dissection.
  5. List options for adjuvant treatment.
  6. List available treatment for metastatic disease.
