DMU’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is excited to showcase faculty and staff expertise in an effort to increase awareness and appreciation among colleagues. We will kick off the week with special guest Dr. Todd Zakrajsek who will present workshops for faculty and staff as well as students. Many sessions and workshops will be presented by our own faculty and staff who have volunteered to share their own work and experiences to grow DMU’s culture of scholarship in teaching and learning.

Target Audience

Des Moines University faculty and staff.

Session Description

As demand for cadavers and teachers increases, amidst the ever-shrinking space for curricular innovation there is an advantage to using alternative approaches which could help students to engage with anatomical material outside of the dissection halls. In light of this, virtual 3-dimensional (3D) training offers students an opportunity to engage with spatially accurate representation of anatomical structures in a way which is not only less intimidating than dissection but also more immersive than text.
