Description

In practice, the collaboration between occupational therapy professionals supports confidence in clinical reasoning by allowing space for brainstorming and knowledge sharing (Evans et al., 2023). Evidence indicates the importance of intentional education about the OT/OTA relationship and their respective roles. The intraprofessional case study simulation provided an environment where students could collaborate to apply their knowledge for assessment and treatment planning. Results of the pre- and post-surveys will be shared to highlight the benefits of intraprofessional education to promote future client positive outcomes.

This project’s purpose is to bring OTA and OTD students together to complete a case study simulation in mixed groups involving assessment and recommended interventions for their simulated client.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify two benefits of intraprofessional education.
  2. Discuss strategies for conducting intraprofessional educational learning events.
