Purpose

Mary Greeley Medical Center Grand Rounds is a multi-disciplinary clinical activity which serves to maintain, develop, or increase the knowledge, skills, and professional performance and relationships that a physician uses to provide services for patients, the public or the profession.

Target Audience

Physicians, Advance Practice Professionals, Nurses, Ancillary Staff, Medical Students (Rotating), and Non-Medical Students (Rotating).

Purpose

This session will help clinicians feel confident in supporting patients in need of lifestyle education beyond what is available through Mary Greeley Medical Center.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify how knowledge and skill gaps may contribute to poor outcomes for patients with lifestyle-related health conditions.
  • Access online nutrition and physical activity content designed for users who have limited financial resources, low literacy, and limited English proficiency.
  • View Iowa State University Extension and Outreach as a partner in supporting patients through healthy lifestyle changes.
