Christopher Nelson, D.O.
Dr. Nelson’s practice focuses on reconstructive surgery of the adult hip and knee. In addition to hip and knee replacement, he has expertise in complex joint replacement, revision joint replacement, hip resurfacing, hip arthroscopy, and other hip preserving procedures. Dr. Nelson also has interests in sports related injuries, knee and shoulder arthroscopy and musculoskeletal trauma. Dr. Nelson is a 2004 graduate of Des Moines University and completed his orthopedic residency at Michigan State University, Garden City Hospital.
Dr. Nelson has indicated he is a consultant for DePuy/Mitek.
Continuing Education Credit
Des Moines University is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to present continuing medical education programs for health care professionals. Des Moines University designates this program for a maximum of 1.0 hour of AOA Category 1-A CME credits.
The Iowa Board of Examiners for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Audiology, and Recreational Therapy does not pre-approve continuing education; this course meets the State of Iowa criteria for continuing education in these professions.
