Purpose

To provide updates in diagnostics and treatment of health care problems affecting Trauma Patients. 

Target Audience

Physicians, nurses, residents and medical students who have experience in the area of trauma.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify unique characterisctics of geriatric trauma, including types of injury, patterns of injury, and their anatomic and physiologic differences.
  2. Describe specific challenges of geriatric trauma care and the impact on trauma resuscitation.
  3. Discuss identification of elder abuse and strategies to manage abusive situations.
  4. Overview prevention programs designed with the intention to minimize risk for geriatric trauma.
