Presentations and discussion will focus on both existing and new course initiatives (required, elective) as well as exploration of existing student pathways through the DO program. By attending this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Better understand the opportunities available to students for progressing through the DMU-COM curriculum
- Engage in more meaningful and manageable course planning and assessment with faculty colleagues
- Critically advise students in areas of curricular planning and decision making
- Identify benefits and challenges to designing competency-based learning experiences and assessments
- Recognize the relevance of a “milestones” framework for defining educational outcomes
- Access a toolkit of DMU-COM curricular resource documents to support course planning and delivery
