
Defect Based Approach to Reconstruction of Cutaneous Defect in the Head & Neck
The General Surgery Didactic Program is an addition to Mercy Medical Center's expansive general surgery exposure. A wide variety of general surgical and subspecialty training is administered within the tertiary care facility and is taught by fellowship-trained faculty.
Intended Audience
Nurses, physicians, surgeons, residents, medical students, and other interested health care professionals.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the basic concepts and principles in selecting reconstructive methods for common facial defects following cutaneous malignancy excision.
- Know and be able to apply the concept of a reconstructive ladder for head and neck defects.
- Appreciate the importance of nasal reconstruction in multiple layers, following tumor extirpation.
