Purpose

Mary Greeley Medical Center Grand Rounds is a multi-disciplinary clinical activity which serves to maintain, develop, or increase the knowledge, skills, and professional performance and relationships that a physician uses to provide services for patients, the public or the profession.

Target Audience

Physicians, Advance Practice Professionals, Nurses, Ancillary Staff, Medical Students (Rotating), Non-Medical Students (Rotating), and Healthcare Administrators.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss the need for exercise and other activities to prevent falls.
  • Recite the differential diagnosis for gain difficulties.
  • Describe how frailty increases risk of falls.
  • Explain the prevalence and primary risks for falls in older adults.
  • Describe potential benefits of physical activity for fall prevention.
  • List the specific features of the Walk with Ease program that achieve the benefits for fall prevention.
  • Share insights about health and fitness needs for older adults.
