The General Surgery Didactic Program is an addition to Mercy Medical Center's expansive general surgery exposure. A wide variety of general surgical and subspecialty training is administered within the tertiary care facility and is taught by fellowship-trained faculty.

Intended Audience

Nurses, physicians, surgeons, residents, medical students, and other interested health care professionals.

Learning Objectives

1. Discuss the epidemiology of breast cancer.
2. Review the evolution of and current screening guidelines for breast cancer.
3. Differentiate various screening modalities, including film vs. digital mammography, 3D mammography, and MRI.
