Purpose

Our learners are changing with each generation. Research suggests, educators should include the Generational Differences into the classroom to meet the needs of today’s learners.  This workshop will provide you with an opportunity to compare generational trends, discuss barriers, and generate ideas about incorporating strategies to better engage the diverse learners in your classroom. 

Learning Objectives

  • Compare generational learners.
  • Discuss the impact of the generational learners in the classroom. 
  • Brainstorm ways to engage the learners of today in their own classrooms.

Des Moines University is located on a 22-acre campus in the heart of Des Moines, Iowa. Just west of downtown on Grand Avenue, the University is located in one of Des Moines’ most prestigious neighborhoods. The campus is in a historic neighborhood filled with tree-lined streets and gracious older homes and businesses. Its central location makes it easy to access the rest of the city and outlying communities.
