Target Audience

Physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, residents, medical students, and other interested professionals that manage and treat neurological conditions or problems with the nervous system.

Purpose

The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge of medicine and disease factors related to neurology. The annual meeting provides a venue for attendees to exchange information, experiences, and ideas leading to improvement in the quality of neurological care in the State of Iowa.

Advanced Practice Providers & Nurses - The Importance of Localization in Neurologic Disease

  • Develop a systematic approach to examine patients with neurologic diseases.
  • Develop a differential diagnosis by combining the findings on examination with the tempo of the history. 
  • Recognize the patterns of neurologic impairments for localization of the disease, which in turn will point to the presumed cause of the neurological impairments.
