Purpose
The 2021 Health Promotion Webinar Series is a part of the Iowa Department of Public Health’s Promoting the Integration of Primary and Behavioral Health (PIPBHC) grant initiatives. These virtual learnings will focus on integrating care for those with substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions, specifically addressing brain injury, tobacco use, and other chronic health states.
Educational Need
During a survey sent out to PIPBHC grantees, the need for additional trainings around topics on nutrition, brain injury and tobacco were identified. This webinar series will address the gaps in integrating the previously mentioned topics into substance use disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery for behavioral health and health care providers in Iowa.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the programs offered by ISU Extension and Outreach designed to support Iowans with low income in making healthy choices on a tight budget.
- Refer to these programs when it is appropriate for a patient.
