Debra Kane, Ph.D., R.N., PHCNS-BC
Dr. Kane is an Assistant Professor at Des Moines University, in the Public Health Department, as well as an Maternal and Child Health Epidemiologist for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Marian College in Wisconsin, and completed her Master’s Degree in Community Health Nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After spending time working as a nurse in Wisconsin and serving as a volunteer with the Milwaukee Archdiocese Latin American Office, she completed her Ph.D. at University of Illinois-Chicago in 2003. In 2005, she completed her post-doctoral fellowship in Maternal and Child Health, at the Mississippi State Department of Health. She is currently working as a Maternal and Child Health Epidemiologist for the CDC, as well as an adjunct assistant professor at Des Moines University.
