  1. Recognize and understand key employment laws and DMU ethical standards applicable to the workplace.
  2. Cultivate “issue spotting” skills to identify legal risks in the workplace and know what to do and where to go once a legal, compliance, or ethical issue has been spotted.
  3. Improve issue spotting and communication skills.
  4. Increase comfort level and ability to have effective, difficult conversations with students, staff, and peers.
  5. Identify which DMU offices, policies, and processes can support academic leaders when confronting a possible legal, compliance, or ethical concern.
