The Symposium will cover a broad spectrum of foot and ankle surgery topics.  Each topic will thoroughly review the literature, demonstrate new techniques, and discuss risks, benefits and complications of various foot and ankle procedures.

 Cadaver Workshop: Applying New Paradigms for Bunion Correction

Open to DPMs only. Attendance is limited to 25 and an extra fee applies.

A cadaver based workshop will be provided to enhance surgeons knowledge and skills in performing tarsal metatarsal tri-correctional arthrodesis.

    1. Understand the anatomy and approach to deformity correction in Metatarsus primus adducto valgus deformity
    2. List the steps for surgical restoration of normal anatomic positions of the first ray
    3. Become familiar with load bearing fixation of the tarsal metatarsal joint

Continuing Education Credit

  • DPM: Des Moines University (DMU) is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as a provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine. DMU has approved this activity for a maximum of 10.75 continuing education contact hours.
  • Other: Attendees will be given a certificate of participation for a maximum of 8.75 continuing education hours.

Cancellation Policy

  • All cancellations must be received in writing at cme@dmu.edu.
  • A nonrefundable administrative fee (50% of registration fee) will be charged for all cancellations.
  • No refunds will be given three (3) business days prior to the activity start date.
  • Cancelled registrations can be transferred to another individual for the same activity. 
  • Individuals who fail to attend the activity (no-shows) will not receive any refund. Forfeited fees may not be applied to any other activity.
