Target Audience
Primary care physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, substance use disorder professionals, or clinic staff who support behavioral health services.
Purpose
Led by a panel of behavioral health experts, Behavioral Health ECHO helps participants learn best practices for treating common mental health conditions and connect with peers from around the state to discuss and learn best practices for identifying and treating behavioral health issues. The curriculum is delivered free of charge through case-based learning strategies, utilizing videoconferencing technology.
Learning Objectives
- Define self-injury.
- Identify key components of an effective assessment process.
- Apply dialectical behavior therapy crisis management skills to support individuals experiencing acute distress.
- Demonstrate "On the Fly" techniques.
Speaker
Angela Murray-Gregory, LCSW-R
Concert Health
Ms. Murray-Gregory has over 30 years of experience in the field. She worked with Marsha Linehan for 13 years on her studies, working with suicidal patients, where she has had multiple publications on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has implemented DBT programs in residential centers and psychiatric hospitals. Ms. Murray-Gregory's expertise is working with suicidal patients, specifically Borderline Personality Disorder, and using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety. She currently works at Concert Health as the subject matter expert for suicide/self-injury or safety planning.
