Target Audience
Primary care physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, substance use disorder professionals, or any clinic staff who support behavioral health services.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the burden of tobacco on the behavioral and mental health population
- Know the different types of tobacco and nicotine products and how tobacco use is an addiction
- Identify and implement evidence-based strategies to engage behavioral health populations with high rates of tobacco use
- Increase knowledge of Quitline Iowa and how the Ask, Advise, Refer method can be implemented in your practice
