Description
This activity will enhance a healthcare professional’s communication skills by providing evidence-based strategies for engaging in crucial conversations. Through this interactive workshop, participants will learn to foster open dialogue across all levels of the organization, particularly in high-stakes, emotionally charged, or high-risk situations. By developing the ability to speak candidly, listen effectively, and build mutual understanding, participants will be better equipped to create alignment, reach agreement, and support collaborative decision-making.
Learning Objectives
- Identify clinical and organizational situations in which crucial conversations are necessary to address high-stakes, emotional, or risky healthcare topics.
- Apply strategies to foster open and constructive dialogue among healthcare team members, patients, and other stakeholders across all levels of healthcare.
- Demonstrate techniques to communicate effectively in healthcare settings, ensuring their concerns are heard and encouraging input from colleagues to improve patient care.
- Make high-quality, collaborative clinical or administrative decisions and implement them with alignment, unity, and commitment to enhance patient safety and team performance.
