Objectives

1. Describe the synergistic antimicrobial effects of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors on the growth of S. aureus when used in combination with aminoglycosides.
2. Compare and contrast the antimicrobial effect of fungal derived statins with synthetic stains on S. aureus growth.
3. Diagram the dose dependent antimicrobial effect, of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors on S. aureus growth, when the concentration of an antimicrobial is held constant.
