Objectives
- Describe the synergistic antimicrobial effects of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors on the growth of S. aureus when used in combination with aminoglycosides.
- Compare and contrast the antimicrobial effect of fungal derived statins with synthetic stains on S. aureus growth.
- Diagram the dose dependent antimicrobial effect, of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors on S. aureus growth, when the concentration of an antimicrobial is held constant.
