Description

This workshop will focus on the dreaded teaching philosophy statement. Discussion will include what a teaching philosophy statement is, its importance, and considerations for what not to include. We will also explore samples of good and bad teaching philosophy statements.

In preparation for this workshop, we ask that you complete a teaching assessment instrument (you only need one of the four in the links below) and the Teaching Philosophy Statement Inventory. These questions are designed to provide you an opportunity to critically think about issues that are essential to the teaching philosophy statement before you arrive at the workshop. Please note that you do not need to answer all of the questions in the TPSI; its questions are designed to elicit ideas related to those areas.
