Students will present their final, faculty-mentored research projects. Their presentations highlight innovative contributions to occupational therapy and mark the culmination of their scholarly work.

  1. Identify the effectiveness of a 12-week sensory-motor intensive occupational therapy program on improving sensory processing skills in children with neurodevelopmental concerns.
  2. Explain the correlation of sensory-motor intensive sessions with age, gender, race, and primary medical diagnosis.
  3. Describe the clinical implications for occupational therapists who conduct sensory-motor intensive therapy.

  3. Describe the role of occupational therapy in improving self-management routines for individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Fieldwork Educators’ Perspectives of a Professional Development Assessment in Preparing Students for Level II Fieldwork

  1. Apply the study findings to the effectiveness of the Professional Development Assessment in preparing students for Level II fieldwork.
  2. Analyze qualitative themes related to professionalism, including responsiveness to feedback, student growth, and interprofessional collaboration.
  3. Identify which essential and affective skills were rated highest and lowest in preparedness.
  4. Interpret Level II fieldwork educators’ perceptions of the overall effectiveness of the Professional Development Assessment in preparing students for Level II fieldwork.

Effect of Prefabricated Orthoses on Pain and Weight-Bearing Capacity for Conservatively Managed TFCC Injuries: A Pilot Study

  1. Analyze the structure and function of the TFCC and the purpose of commonly used prefabricated orthoses for TFCC injuries as they relate to the current study.
  2. Describe the purpose and methodology of this study compared to previous literature for prefabricated orthoses for conservatively managed TFCC injuries.
  3. Evaluate results related to the effectiveness of the WristWidget®️ and Bullseye WristBand™️ for pain reduction and weight-bearing capacity for conservatively managed TFCC injuries.
