Description

The purpose of this webinar is to inform current and future healthcare providers about the use of exercise in managing mental health disorders and how to write exercise prescriptions for select patients with major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder.

Learning Objectives

  1. Review the physiology of physical activity’s effect on major depressive disorder (MDD) and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
  2. Identify patients with MDD and GDD who can benefit from exercise prescription. 
  3. Recognize the multifactorial barriers to prescribing exercise to patients.
  4. Recall the importance of shared decision-making in regard to prescribing exercise.
  5. Write an exercise prescription for patients with mild MDD and GAD.
