Target Audience
Primary care physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, substance use disorder professionals, or clinic staff who support behavioral health services.
Purpose
Led by a panel of behavioral health experts, Behavioral Health ECHO helps participants learn best practices for treating common mental health conditions and connect with peers from around the state to discuss and learn best practices in identifying and treating behavioral health issues. The curriculum is delivered at no cost through case-based learning strategies via video conferencing technology.

- Explain the cognitive continuum.
- Describe mild cognitive impairment.
- Discuss the future of assessment and biomarkers.
- Update on Anti Amyloid Therapies and other future medications.
Speaker
Yogi Shah MD, MPH, FAAFP
Geriatrician, Brain and Memory Center, Broadlawns Medical Center
Before joining the medical staff at Broadlawns, Dr. Shah served as the Associate Dean of Global Health at Des Moines University. He was the founding physician for the Des Moines University Memory Clinic.
Dr. Shah received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Bombay University in India. He completed his residency training in Family Medicine with the Mercy Mayo Residency Program and earned his Geriatric Fellowship from the Mayo Clinic, where he worked on Mild Cognitive Impairment. He is triple-board-certified in Family Medicine, Geriatrics, Hospice, and Palliative Care. Dr. Shah holds a Masters in Public Health from Des Moines University.
