Gamechangers in Medicine: Spring 2024
Overview
Purpose
Mary Greeley Medical Center Grand Rounds is a multi-disciplinary clinical activity that maintains, develops, or increases the knowledge, skills, professional performance, and relationships a physician uses to provide services for patients, the public, or the profession.
Target Audience
Physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, medical students (rotating), non-medical students (rotating), and healthcare administrators.
Learning Objectives
- Classify "Gamechanger" topics by how they affect practice settings.
- Discuss how each "Gamechanger" topic will impact the provision of patient care.
- List possible solutions to clinical problems listed throughout the presentation.
- Assess the clinical trials used to support the content for this presentation.
- Apply the information presented to influence patient care and outcomes at practice sites.
Speaker
Geoffrey C. Wall, PharmD, BCPS, FCCP
Internal Medicine Clinical Pharmacist, Iowa Methodist Medical Center
Ellis Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
Dr. Wall received his Bachelor's in Pharmacy from the University of Utah in 1992 and his Doctor of Pharmacy from Idaho State University in 1998. He completed a PGY2 in Internal Medicine at Scott and White Hospitals and Clinics and is board-certified in Pharmacotherapy and Geriatrics. Dr. Wall joined UnityPoint Health - Des Moines in 1999. He precepts the Internal Medicine, Critical Care, and Drug Information Elective rotations and is a Professor at Drake University. He is an active member of IPA and ACCP. Dr. Wall's areas of interest include drug allergy/immunology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, and critical care pharmacotherapy.
