What if I change my mind and want to cancel my enrollment in the DMU Medical Terminology Course?
The DMU Medical Terminology Course is non-refundable. Unfortunately, we will not offer refunds for any reason.
What is the difference between the free and paid course?
If you don’t require a certificate, DMU offers a free medical terminology course with different content. Participation in the free course is not tracked, and no certificate is provided upon completion.
If you would like documentation for completing the DMU Medical Terminology Course, the cost is $99, and registration is required. The certificate can be helpful when applying for employment that requires proof of medical terminology knowledge.
Can I take the course first and pay the $99 later?
The content of the free and paid courses is different. The free course does not track participation, and payment is required to receive the certificate for the paid course.
Is there a test? What happens if I do not pass?
Each body system has a knowledge check. You must pass each knowledge check with 75%; however, there are unlimited attempts.
The course includes a 30-question graded final quiz. You have three attempts to pass the final quiz. If you do not pass the final quiz within three attempts, you must pay $99 to retake the course to receive a certificate.
Is the medical terminology course eligible for academic credit or a grade from DMU?
This course is considered continuing education only. You are not an enrolled student at DMU. It is not eligible for academic credit or a grade, and an academic transcript from the registrar's office is unavailable.
How much time does it take to complete the DMU Medical Terminology Course?

When and how will I receive my certificate?
You will automatically receive your certificate upon completing the final quiz and course evaluation. The certificate will be available for download as a PDF and will not be mailed to you.
Will my employer, licensing board, or higher education institution accept this course as part of their required criteria?
