Target Audience
Healthcare providers.
Description
Participants will explore ME/CFS through the lens of body unity, recognizing the interconnected nature of physical, psychological, and social factors that influence health and disease. The program emphasizes the body's capacity for self-regulation, self-healing, and health maintenance, particularly in the context of chronic illness and functional impairment. Learners will examine the reciprocal relationship between structure and function and apply these concepts when developing individualized, patient-centered treatment plans. Rational treatment approaches based on osteopathic principles are integrated throughout the activity, encouraging clinicians to consider the whole person rather than isolated symptoms.
Through case-based discussions, clinical pearls, multidisciplinary perspectives, and evidence-informed management strategies, participants will strengthen their ability to diagnose and manage ME/CFS while addressing stigma and improving communication with patients experiencing this often misunderstood condition.
The program's interdisciplinary nature reflects the commitment to comprehensive, team-based care. Presentations include perspectives from multiple members of the healthcare team, reinforcing collaborative approaches that support the physical, emotional, and social well-being of patients living with ME/CFS.
