What is Therapeutic SomaYoga?
SomaYoga combines traditional yoga poses, breath work, therapeutic yoga, the Neuromuscular Re-education of Somatics, Ayurveda (the sister science to yoga), and personal development/shadow work.
Services
- Individual SomaYoga Therapy
- Work one-on-one to discover the patterns you have in your body with Somatics and how to change them by releasing chronically tight/contracted muscles, engaging muscles you're not using, and developing a home practice that helps you control these patterns. Learn how to move with more freedom and less pain/strain. Assessment and guidance will also include an analysis of your breath pattern. Breath is one of our most significant tools to quickly change EVERY body system, including the nervous, musculoskeletal, and cardiac systems. Sessions may also include a basic Ayurveda assessment to teach you daily self-care techniques depending on your body, or dosha, type, using ancient yogic guides and maps such as the Kosha layers and Yamas and Niyamas as well as the tools of Occupational Therapy to help with functional movement. A detailed home program is given during each session, and Pam will work with you to find a program that fits YOUR life and schedule.
