Description
According to the CDC, this educational webinar will provide the latest updates on Mycoplasma respiratory infections, increasing in 2024, especially among younger children. This presentation will educate providers regarding the current trends of Mycoplasma pneumoniae, discuss the clinical presentation, and describe CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations for diagnosing and managing these infections.

Dr. Kaushik most recently was elected as the new Vice President (President-Elect) of the Iowa American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Dr. Kaushik's election marks a historic milestone as she becomes the first physician from Sioux City to hold this prestigious position within the Iowa AAP. Dr. Kaushik is a Board Member of Iowa AAP, a national spokesperson for AAP, and a recipient of the 2019 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Childhood Immunization Champion Award for Iowa and a Special Achievement Award from the AAP for distinguished service and dedication to the mission and goals of the academy.
Dr. Kaushik is also a nominated member of the prestigious New York Academy of Medicine and the Midwest Society for Pediatric Research; has been elected as an overseas fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, UK; is the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Iowa Chapter Infectious Diseases Champion; and has been elected to the AAP Iowa Chapter Legislative Committee, along with serving on the AAP Iowa Chapter Committee on Immunizations as the Chapter Immunization Representative (CIR). She has also been accepted to the Harvard Medical School Pediatrics Leadership Program and is the featured global health expert for Sabin Vaccine Institutes Immunization Advocates. The CDC has recognized Dr. Kaushik as the 2019 Childhood Immunization Champion for Iowa and is the winner of the CDC 2019 Childhood Immunization Champion Award.
