Description

Arbitrary as it is, the end of the calendar year is a great time to reflect on recent experiences and focus on the future. This fun, relaxed, and activity-driven session will introduce practical tools to help faculty expand emotional intelligence, learn from recent experiences, and approach the new year with clarity and purpose. Participants will engage in exercises designed to promote a forward-focused, growth mindset while identifying strategies that support both personal well-being and professional effectiveness. This session encourages self-awareness and planning. Skills that directly influence teaching, leadership, and learner support.

Learning Objectives

  • Explore ways to help process and learn from the year we are closing out.
  • Explore several emotional intelligence exercises focused on the future and setting meaningful goals for 2026. 
  • Engage in activities designed to cultivate a forward-focused, growth mindset.
  • Identify how reflective practices can be used to enhance teaching, mentorship, and leadership in academic settings.
  • Develop a set of meaningful, actionable goals for 2026 that align with individual values and institutional roles.
