Target Audience

Primary care physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, substance use disorder professionals, or clinic staff who support behavioral health services.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify common presentations/risk factors of substance use in the geriatric population.
  • Consider different pharmacological treatments for common substance uses with an appreciation for their associated risks in the elderly.
  • Discuss a non-pharmacological alternative concerning mental health to assist patients with aging.
