Minimally Invasive Procedures
The General Surgery Didactic Program is an addition to Mercy Medical Center's expansive general surgery exposure. A wide variety of general surgical and subspecialty training is administered within the tertiary care facility and is taught by fellowship-trained faculty.
Intended Audience
Nurses, physicians, surgeons, residents, medical students, and other interested health care professionals.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the history of minimally invasive surgery as it pertains to general surgery.
- Discuss some advantages and disadvantages of minimally invasive techniques.
- Discuss cases in which minimally invasive procedures may not be equal to their counter parts.
- Discuss briefly the future of minimally invasive surgery.
